As part of an investigation by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Naples, the carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Compagnia di Giugliano in Campania have executed an Order of Precautionary Detention in Prison, issued by the Court of Naples, against 3 people reached, for various reasons, by serious indications of guilt for the crimes of extortion, consummated or attempted, illegal possession and carrying of common firearms, aggravated by mafia purposes and methods.
The investigations, which on 8 June had already led to a raid and arrest of various other Mallardo clan members operating in the city of Giugliano in Campania, have made it possible to collect considerable evidence against Angelo Pirozzi 46 years, Antonio Russo 53 years, and Biagio Vallefuoco 54 years, in relation to extortion requests against building contractors, car dealers, restaurateurs, as well as the imposition in the conferment of waste oils to traders in the area, the collection and recovery of debts and the illegal possession of firearms.
Angelo Pirozzi and Biagio Vallefuoco are believed to be prominent and high-ranking members of the Mallardo Camorra clan.
