Israeli mafia boss captured in Istanbul

An Israeli crime boss sought by Interpol was discovered in a luxury home he was sharing with his Turkish girlfriend in the Şişli district of Istanbul.

According to Interpol, 31-year-old Omre Oda is charged with “murder, attempt to murder, money laundering, blackmail, organizing conspiracy for crime, disobeying firearms law, kidnapping and fraud.”

Oda vanished after committing several crimes between 2017 and 2019, according to Israeli authorities. Turkish police began investigating his whereabouts when notified that there was a high probability that he was holed up in Istanbul. Security forces determined that he was living in a residential apartment in Şişli with his girlfriend. On March 15, Oda was apprehended during a routine health check-up.
