Man killed in Camorra Mafia Killer’s “Baptism”

According to reports, a 56-year-old man was shot and killed in what has been called a “Camorra mafia killer’s baptism.”

Davide Fogler was found dead on July 31 in a room in Bagnoli, Naples. Initially it was thought that the man, who worked as a valet, had died accidentally after hitting his head on some furniture and collapsing. However, his autopsy revealed that he had actually been murdered.

Investigators now believe that Fogler was shot in broad daylight through a window that overlooked the street. Several Italian publications that covered Fogler’s killing speculated that the shooting was a “killer’s baptism,” and that the perpetrator killed him as a “kind of test” to “get expertise with a weapon.”

Indications are that this was a crime of opportunity, and the deceased, who had no ties to organized crime, was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
